Welcome to TripNippy. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how TripNippy ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and website services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
To provide a rich and functional travel logging experience, we collect the following types of information:
- Authentication & Profile Data: When you register or log in, we collect your name, email address, password, and profile picture. This information is managed securely through Firebase Authentication.
- Itinerary & Travel Plans: We store travel details, dates, destinations, schedules, and custom itineraries created by you or generated for you by our AI trip planner.
- Media (Photos of Places): Our mobile application requests access to your device's Camera and Photo Library. This allows you to capture and upload photos of places you visit during your trips. These photos are uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage.
- Completed Trips & Publish Data: When you complete a trip, you can choose to save it locally or publish it to the TripNippy community, making your travel journals and photos visible to other users.
- AI Generation Inputs: Prompts, preferences, and destination queries you submit to our AI travel engine are processed to generate custom recommendations.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following core purposes:
- To create, manage, and secure your user account.
- To enable the creation, editing, and execution of travel itineraries.
- To process and host photos you take during trips within your journals.
- To generate customized travel suggestions using AI algorithms.
- To enable social sharing and publishing of completed itineraries.
- To analyze usage metrics and improve application features.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We value your trust. We do **not** sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties. We only share data in the following restricted scenarios:
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted infrastructure providers like **Google Firebase** (for authentication, hosting, database storage) and AI APIs (to process trip planning queries). These services are bound by strict data confidentiality agreements.
- Public Sharing: Any itineraries or photos you explicitly choose to "Publish" will be visible to the public and other users of the TripNippy platform. You can unpublish or delete your public logs at any time.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
4. Data Security and Deletion Rights
We implement industry-standard encryption and security measures via Google Cloud and Firebase services to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
How to Delete Your Account and Data:
Under app store guidelines, you have the absolute right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated travel records, itineraries, and photos:
- In-App Deletion: You can navigate to your Profile or Settings tab within the TripNippy Mobile App and tap "Delete Account". This triggers an automated cleanup that permanently erases your credentials, files, and itineraries from our database.
- Email Deletion Request: Alternatively, you can email our support team directly at tripynippy@gmail.com using the email address associated with your account. We will process your deletion request within 48 hours and send a confirmation email.
Note: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All uploaded photos and custom trips will be permanently erased.
